Another Midnight Rising - Book Review!

review done by Kristina

Midnight Rising
by William Anderson Simpson

122 pages
September 2010
Deep River Books

Read: April 2011

"Avoiding the usual end time "signs"--earthquakes in various places, wars and rumors of wars, Midnight Rising focuses on less bandied indicators. Wm. Anderson Simpson points to specific geo-political alliances that are to be in place during the tribulation, the worldwide acclaim for the Antichrist, the traveling to and fro of many, and--what struck the chord in the hearts of the Evangelicals--the financial crisis of 2009 and the meteoric rise to world acclaim of our current president. Unveiling signs not commonly discussed in relation to this topic, Simpson makes a strong argument for the correctness in the Evangelical's call to action.

There is an urgent call for teaching and preaching concerning things about to burst forth onto the world stage.
If you truly believe the rapture is near-shouldn't you be gleaning some understanding of the times and seasons?"
~Deep River Books Overview

First thing you should know is I am fascinated, truly fascinated, by all things end-of-the-world. But, I never know who to really believe or which theory is right, and they all sound like they are grasping at straws. Most predictions begin with the same thing, The Rapture. William Anderson Simpson wants us to understand that it's not the "signs" that we need to be aware of, it's the set up before the signs that we never realize until it's too late. We need to be aware of certain things that will be or should be lining up just before the noticeable events. So, are we actually in the end times? What is it we need to look for? How are we involved? These questions have answers. Simpson shows us how close we actually are and what we should be looking for. If you are looking for a book that will name the AntiChrist or point to the exact date of the Rapture, you've come to the wrong book. But if you're looking for answers and signs of what will be coming, this is definitely the book for you.

After reading this, I'm pretty sure that, as a Christian, this book is a necessity to understanding what is coming and that we need to reach out to as many people as we possibly can, as fast as we can. I have to admit, I think about the end of days all the time. I never thought it would happen in my lifetime, but now I'm not so sure.

Midnight Rising - Book Review!

review done by Kat

There come periods in the history of the world, almost cyclically, when it is time to step back and make fresh assessments of the accuracy of our understanding of prophetic things. Had the Jews stepped back and considered the words of their own prophets, they might not have had their Messiah executed by the Gentiles. If the Jews had listened to their prophets in the 300 years before they went into captivity, Nebuchadnezzar might not have taken Jerusalem in 586 BC. If the Jews, possessed the prophets of Daniel, had calculated the time frame that he gave them, they would have known that Jesus was the Lord from heaven. They were caught up in their present lives and didn't notice the fulfillment of many prophecies all around them. They were so caught up in temporal matters that they did not have time to consider those times or seasons that had slipped up on them while they were unaware.

So where are we today in Bible prophecy? Are we about to make the very same mistake that the Jews did so long ago, thinking we are not really living as close to the end times the Bible predicts? How can we be so sure?

Using the scriptures of Ezekiel, Daniel, Revelation and Thessalonians, this book uncovers just how close we truly are to the Rapture of the Church, what place the United States will play in the end times (yes, we are in there and it isn't good), and just where we should be looking for the antichrist to arise.

While it won't lay claim to who the antichrist is with 100% accuracy, we can not deny that the signs that the Bible speaks of and where we are on the prophetic map, allow the reader to wonder if we aren't the generation that will not see physical death. Just what role does 2012 play into this? We the Mayans close to conveying something big is going to happen in 2012? Will an asteroid hit the planet Earth that will be so massive that it will knock the Earth off its axis?

All these questions are answered with Bible based certainty in the latest book by Wm. Anderson Simpson, called Midnight Rising - Warning Signs for this Generation. For anyone who claims to be a Christian, this is a must read so we don't fall in the same pattern as the Jewish people did long ago. Let us make sure our oil is filled and we are ready for the Bridegroom to come and claim His bride. This book rates a 5 out of 5 stars and I look forward to keep this as a resource along with my Bible in the days ahead. I plan on being ready. The author of this book is the primary author of the theological monthly, Christian Chronicles, which you can view online still today to keep up with current events that the Christian wants to be aware of.

I received this book compliments of Bring It On Communications for my honest review. I can honestly say, I knew we were close but not sure just how close. My biggest error in my own research had me looking for the antichrist to come from Europe or the Middle East. I was shocked to learn what the Bible had to say regarding this. Now my personal mission is seeking to tell as many as I can about God's salvation plan more so now than ever before. I used this book hand in hand with my own Bible to research all the scripture references. WOW was I off on a lot of things. I will be keeping this book close at hand as we fulfill more and more prophecies in the days ahead. As a Christian, this is a must have.

Those who are alive on the earth during the Tribulation will recognize it since this was written to that generation of those who will become saints during the Tribulation, those who are slain by the sword or who remain alive to witness the Second Coming of the Lord.

That generation will be greatly blessed on account of their faith in the near return of the Messiah. That generation of Jews and Gentiles alike will have high honor among the saints. The saints of the early Church suffered persecution from the beginning, and we continue to do so today.

Man worries about global warming but has no fear of those things the Bible say will happen. Willingly ignorant, man stumbles into the very things prophesied of him, and nobody notices. Today, the devil has practically the whole of the true Church looking toward some distant point in time, blinding them to this present world system. (pg. 72)

Midnight Rising: Warning Signs for This Generation

I recently had the great opportunity to review "Midnight Rising: Warning Signs for This Generation" by William Anderson Simpson.

I have been somewhat fascinated with the coming times and the promise of salvation for quite some time now.  I've read most of the Left Behind books and tried to read Revelations - simply needing a formal bible study on that one to understand all of the analogies!

This book is provocative and a great source of reading about the coming Rapture, with evidenced proof with paralleled scripture.  Insights into the book of Daniel and Revelations opens our eyes to the possibility of the End Times being much closer than we may anticipate.

Revelation describes the Nation of the Beast and Anderson argues that this nation is none other than the United States of America.  Anderson reveals quite interesting arguments in a layman's manner and challenges us to be open to the Word and its promises to us.

I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend this book to anyone that is interested in the prophesies of the end times in the Bible and the role that the U.S. stands in it.

Bravo!

Midnight Rising: Warning Signs for This GenerationMidnight Rising: Warning Signs for This Generation by
William Anderson Simpson
ISBN: 978-1-935-265-30-6Publisher: Deep River BooksPublishing Date: September 1st, 2010Price: $14.99

Summary (from back cover): America is the nation that has consistently been the broker for Middle East peace. Midnight Rising makes the case for an American antichrist. The entire geo-political stage is alignted for the events that follow the rapture, and the push is on to resolve one issue that holds back the dark days of the tribulation – the signing of a Middle East peace agreement.
Simpson points out that whichever president is in power when the light of his reason proves to be darkness (cp. Mt. 6:22-23), he will be known for certain by the brokering of a comprehensive Middle East peace treaty between Israel and “many.” It could be this president … but it could just as easily be the next, or one of many down the line.
In these pages, you will find a biblical argument in favor of the Evangelicals’ urgent call for teaching and preaching concerning the things about to burst forth onto the world stage.
My Thoughts: I have been interested in end-times prophecy for a very long time, even going so far as to take a course on it when I was in high school. When the opportunity came for me to review this book, I couldn’t pass it up. I actually have found myself wondering if the antichrist was coming from America – if there was even a chance of that. When I realized that’s what this book was about, I was quite excited.
Simpson makes a compelling case for America being the country from which the antichrist arises. He matches up prophecy from Revelations with many other prophecies throughout the Bible – Daniel and Ezekiel, to name two. He pieces it together, showing us just how close the stage is to being ready for the Rapture, then the Tribulation. So many things have fallen into place. So many things are ready. And, as Simpson says, with the huge focus on peace in the Middle East, how can we not see just how close we are to the end of the Church Age?
My only complaint is that I felt like the book was quite repetitive. I think it’s because the scriptures are taken separately and discussed on their own. As Simpson explains each chunk of scripture, it reinforces the others that he explains, and inevitably that leads to repetition. I’m not sure how that could be fixed, as I think the analysis of the pertinent scriptures separately helps with clarity. The repetition brings home the point that this is indeed something mentioned all over the Bible.
Overall, this is something I’m glad I’ve read. This book is not only compelling, but quite thought-provoking. I found myself talking about it with my husband last night, and I’m planning to share this book with friends who are interested in it. It’s very interesting reading, and quite the eye-opener for Christians everywhere. Jesus is coming, and how wonderful would it be if WE are the generation that escapes physical death? How cool would that be? And if not us, maybe our children!
Favorite Quotes: I don’t always do this, but there is one quote that I just have to share.
The saints of the early Church suffered persecution from the beginning, and we continue to do so today. The persecution we endure today is mostly different in character in this respect: theirs was terror and physical suffering, whereas today Satan is attacking the Church in more subtle ways, distracting and diverting us from the most important times in the history of the world.
Man worries about global warming but has no fear of those things the Bible says will happen. ~ page 72
My thoughts almost exactly on the whole “global warming” issue. While I agree that we should take care of the planet God gave us, I believe in the inevitability of events revealed through prophecy that has been shared via the Bible. While, yes, the environment is important, all the recycling, carbon-footprint reduction, etc. isn’t going to change what is to come. And it isn’t going to save the already-doomed earth. Now, though, I better understand my frustration with the extensive focus on global warming and whatnot. This book really helped me better understand my own thoughts on things! :-)
My Rating: 3.5 stars

Book Review - Midnight Rising - Warning Signs for this Generation

Book: Midnight Rising -  Warning Signs for this Generation
Author: W. M. Anderson Simpson

Book Synopsis: During the U.S. elections of 2008, a number of Evangelicals began raising the cry that the rapture is near. Midnight Rising-Warning Signs for This Generation presents in stark terms, the reasons why a growing number of Evangelicals believe that the times and the seasons are upon us. In this volume, the nation from which the Antichrist will arise is made perfectly clear. Wm. Anderson Simpson shows signs that are not commonly discussed in relation to this topic, and makes a strong argument for the correctness of the Evangelicals’ urgent call for teaching and preaching concerning the things about to burst forth onto the world stage.

Midnight Rising speaks of the Rapture, The End Times, the Tribulation, Armageddon, peace in the Middle East, false gods rising up appearing to be like the one true God, wars and battles, the Anti-Christ, worldwide famine, disasters and biblical prophecy.

The book explains in detail how "prophecy from the Bible is being fulfilled in our day and time and yet some don't even realize it. It uncovers how the Church has been lulled into hopelessness concerning the Rapture". It speaks of the financial crisis, the end of the world system and as the "economies of the world collapse the United States will still emerge as the clear leader under the guidance of the devil himself, personified in the Antichrist".

The case is made that "Christians and the church need to continue in the ministry of reconciliation and that many will perish because they have rejected the free gift of salvation God provided through Christ. People seek heaven by their own merits, and not by God's grace and their name will not be in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

My thoughts:

Midnight Rising is an excellent resource for prophetic research, bible prophecy, biblical studies or anyone trying to find a deeper understanding of the End Times and its meaning. There are numerous scriptural references from the Bible that support the writers argument pertaining to the End Times.

We are living in perilous times and there has never been before such an urgency to spread the news of the Gospel of Christ to all the world. So many people are being persecuted for their belief in God and they are not allowed to worship freely. There will come a day when God will return to establish His kingdom and many will be unaware and caught off guard. When Christ returns will you be ready?

REVIEW: Midnight Rising Warning Signs for this Generation, by Wm. Anderson Simpson

Midnight Rising: Warning Signs for this Generation is a tremendously insightful book of scripture and insight concerning the coming Rapture.  Wm. Anderson Simpson dares to bring to light the frightening signs that this time is much closer than The Church believes {or admits} and we, as humble followers of the Lord, should begin to prepare for our eternal life with God.

I cannot begin to express how much I enjoyed reading this book and considering the possibilities that these signs have opened to me, but I know that I will surely be thinking of my salvation more often.  If you're looking for a book full of facts, scripture, and interesting interpretation of signs that were predicted in both Daniel and Revelation then you really need to read this book!

I was given the privilege of interviewing Wm. Anderson Simpson, and I am delighted with his responses!  They are uplifting and wonderful, and I hope you enjoy delving a bit into the mind of the man who helped me realize that we are closer to meeting the Lord than once thought.

QUESTION: How long did it take you to piece together your ideas and conclusions that can be found in Midnight Rising: Warning Signs for this Generation?

ANSWER: I have studied the prophets seriously since the mid-to-late ‘70s. When Anwar Sadat went to Jerusalem and they came together under President Jimmy Carter in 1979, I had my first inkling that the U.S. could be involved in some way. That led to a more pointed study. I read what other theologians had written on the matter, most only lending a line or two concerning the revival of the old Roman Empire.  Walvoord’s statement that the U.S. would play a leading role, second only to the beast, in his 1964 book was very courageous, seeing that his contemporaries were all still hanging onto the four hundred year old interpretation.

After I read that, things started falling into place pretty quickly. Many prophecies concerning the end
times confirmed what I’d begun to understand. But my conclusions were pretty firmly entrenched by
the mid-‘80s. I was very busy with other ministries until 2007.

It was then that I realized that I needed to write a book. Naturally, I jumped ahead of God, and began
writing a dramatization of the Flood. During morning prayers, for a period of several weeks, I was
under the clear understanding that I was to stop what I was working on and write the book that you now have. Nevertheless, wanting to finish the Flood book, I resisted until I knew that it was foolish to make God wait. Writing it took about three months, and editing, another three months.
QUESTION: You said that we are not yet meant to understand what John’s prophecy means by the beast’s “mortal wound” that was healed. Keeping with the theory that the Antichrist willrise out of the United States, do you have any speculation as to whether this wound may bethe United State’s rise from financial ruin after the current recession that many fear will
end our financial dominance over the rest of the world?

ANSWER: Not really. I think the financial disaster played a big part in the nation’s swing to the left, with its promise of change. And it may yet lead to the disaster that will befall the world during the
tribulation. I see where you are coming from, but I tend to agree with Scofield and others who
suggest that it was the imperial form of the Roman Empire that was mortally wounded, only to
be revived by a “little horn” that would spring from among ten nations that we parts of the Old
Empire, grow great, defeat three of those European nations, and come to lead the West as the final
form of the old Roman Empire.

We may see the U.S. economy collapse, but so will the other economies around the world, leading
to a single currency worldwide. I know the powers that be have been working out a model of a
world currency, much like the European euro, for at least fifteen years, and that it is a practical
solution already, awaiting only the right crisis to spring that trap.

We won’t lose our dominance under such a regime, because we have assets to support our
position (and we have the most and the baddest bullets). We will continue to owe other countries
and our own investors, but the playing field will have been leveled somewhat. At some point,

after the rapture, there has to be a deep enough monetary crisis to force the world into a one-
world currency. It may be the rapture itself, as that will surely throw a major monkey wrench into
the world’s economies.

Nevertheless, who really knows? We certainly have started climbing out of the hole already.
Unemployment rates are back into single digits, housing starts have been up three or four
quarters in a row, banks are starting to lend money again. I know that much that is uncertain to us
today will be starkly clear to those who endure the tribulation.

QUESTION: Do you believe that the man who is to be the Antichrist is already aware of what he is?

ANSWER: I doubt it. I’m not sure that he ever thinks he’s that character. I think that he persuades himself that he indeed is God. It has happened many times in history, when leaders of great empires
have declared themselves gods. While it hasn’t happened lately, that does not preclude it from
happening at any time. Once the beast knows that he actually controls the entire world, I can see
how he might see himself this way.

But it’s more complicated than that. This individual will be indwelt by the devil himself. Satan
knows his end. But the individual into whom he enters may never know that he is indwelt by
Satan. He may simply believe himself to be intelligent beyond parallel in human history, capable
of doing his will everywhere, wiser than Solomon and greater than Christ; for his kingdom extends
to all the earth, whereas Christ never even came into His kingdom.. It’s a short hop from there
to, “Oh, I must be the second coming of Christ!” Whatever the case, he will fall far short in his
estimation of the power of our great God. He will be responsible for his own actions.

QUESTION: Those who are left after The Rapture, may they still join God if they desire?

ANSWER: Absolutely. The gospel that they will hear and must believe in that day is not the gospel of grace that we preach today, but it will be the same gospel of the kingdom that Jesus preached in His first advent: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” That is all anyone in the tribulation must
believe in order to be saved. Unfortunately, such faith comes at a price – decapitation. Few will
be the saints who survive the tribulation to repopulate the earth, but those multitudes who lose
their lives in that day will be resurrected and glorified at the end of the tribulation, along with all
of the Old Testament saints. The tribulation period saints who survive to the end will enter the
millennial kingdom and reform the nations of the earth. These are those over whom we will reign
during the Kingdom Age. However, they do not have to understand any complex theology; only
that the Jewish Messiah is coming soon.

There is a caveat to that, however. If a person has heard and rejected the gospel of God’s grace
during his life prior to the tribulation, he will be sent a strong delusion so that he will believe the
lie. When we witness to someone, we are placing them in grave danger. If they refuse us, it may

be the only chance that they get before the rapture. Then it is certain that they will not be saved.
They will follow the beast into perdition.

Thus, the answer is yes and no. Yes to anyone who has not heard it (you’d be amazed how many
people that might be, even in this age of technology and communication), and no to those who
have heard it and rejected it. These are not only the most exciting times in the history of the
world; they are also the most dangerous. Our responsibilities are heightened, and our sense of the
imminence of the rapture ought to be tinged with a hue of immediacy.

Midnight Rising

Midnight Rising was sent to me thanks to the author William Anderson Simpson and Bring It On! Communications.
Quick Overview:
Avoiding the usual end time "signs"--earthquakes in various places, wars and rumors of wars, Midnight Rising focuses on less bandied indicators.

If you truly believe the rapture is near-shouldn't you be gleaning some understanding of the times and seasons? .
My Thoughts:
This book is about the end times and prophecy according to the Bible.  It has an interesting take on how most current events in the United States, their relationship with other countries, and peace talks with Israel are fufilling bible prophecies.  It is a must read if you enjoy books about bible phrophecy in relation to current events.   The author gives scripture references to back up his theories.  It seems as though the author's intent is to prompt you into realizing the end times are fast approaching.

Midnight Rising Book Review

Midnight Rising-Warning Signs for This Generation

· Author William Anderson Simpson
· ISBN 193526530X
· Publisher Deep River Books
· Publishing Date September 1, 2010
· Price $14.99

William Anderson Simpson writes Midnight Rising-Warning Signs for This Generation , giving us a a deeper look into the scriptures and studies and its relationship to rapture. Simpson talks about not only reading the obvious signs of the end times drawing near but those of political view in his books. He brings to point how politically we need to change our world view on things. Which I agree with, he makes many fine points but one thing he wrote is that people , all people must want to change. We may say it, think it, but we’re only at the beginning of change I think.

I consider myself a Christian , reading how Simpson says how the “Evangelicals” can point out who they believe to be the Antichrist, has taken me back quick a bit. I’ll admit it took me awhile to finish this book as I would read something and have to walk away from it. Throughout his book he brings up many other views reading the same way, it was just a major snag for me. When I would pick it back up and start again, Simpson would write why they may be Antichrist, and dive deeper into a scripture that would explain a better meaning for his reasons. He does an wonderful job on taking you through some different views, even if I don’t agree with them. His take and explanation is well written.
The book is interesting and has brought may debates with my husband and I who read the book as well. We can literally sit for hours discussing some things in this book. The main things that heated up a debate were Simpson stand on the political view of things, which nearly always ruffle the feathers around here. My husband and I have the same stand politically, but add religion into the mix and it’s not always a very smooth discussion. We are both Christian but still have our own views and understanding of things.

I will say that Midnight Rising-Warning Signs for This Generation has sparked up some interest discussions ,amongst a few of my friends and family. Simpson breaks down and explains rapture and his take on the numerous scripture he shares throughout the books. It’s an interesting read and brings up many fine points on how we as a whole must come together. The cover itself draws you in with it's black cover and clock, with a flag in the background, Sparking the beginning of his compelling take on the signs drawing near in the future.

If your interested in reading further about the rapture this is a excellent book that can give you a better understanding of some scripture dealing with it as well as how it takes stand in today’s world.

"Midnight Rising: Warning Sings to this Generation"

Book Review

Are you ready for my first book review? These will probably be less frequent than my other reviews, only because I have less and less time these days for reading! None the less, I do enjoy a good book every now and then!

I was sent the book "Midnight Rising: Warning Signs to this Generation" to review. Let me give you the facts about the book, and then I'll get down to my thoughts:

MIDNIGHT RISING: Warning Signs to this Generation
Copyright 2009 by William Anderson Simpson, Fort Valley Georgia
ISBN: 10:193526530X
Published by Deep River Books
$14.99

Now onto the fun part! This is a book written by a Christian author about End Times and the prophesies about that time that can be found in the Bible. As a Christian myself, I have heard a lot of discussions and sermons on this topic. I must be honest with you. I am not interested in the topic at all. Not because I don't believe in it, because I do. I do believe that one day Jesus will return to the Earth and rapture His believers. The reason I don't like studying about End Times is that, in my mind, it is all purely speculation and it is all up to interpretation. Many Christians thought that Hitler would be the anti-Christ. This, obviously proved to be fiction.

It's kinda like when you are in English class in high school and the teacher is telling you that certain elements of a novel you are reading are symbolism. And to me, I'm thinking--why does the name "Pearl" HAVE to symbolize something? Maybe the author just liked the name.Or you get the question wrong because you thought the tone of the novel was happy, but really it *should* have been mellow.  I think things can be read into TOO much and that, again, so much of what you take from things is in how you interpret them.

Like I said, so much of Revelation and End Time prophesies are all in how you interpret them. One of the main arguments that Mr. Radmacher makes in his book is that he believes that President Obama could be the Anti-Christ.  I do not agree.

That being said, I know that a lot of Christian DO enjoy studying Revelation and the End Time Prophesies in the Bible. I think it is definitely something that tends to interest men more than women--don't know why, that has just been my experience.  If you enjoy studying about this topic, then this is definitely a book you should read! It is a short book and whether you agree with his interpretations or not, you are sure to learn a few things in the process. The book is easy to understand and he breaks down different Bible verses and what he believes they are prophesying.

A BOOK REVIEW:

Midnight Rising: Warning to this Generation

By: WM. Anderson Simpson
If you’re like me and love to read books that break down the scripture then you should read this. WM. Anderson Simpson does a wonderful job taking many verses related to the rapture and walking you through them. He even relates many of them to things that are happening all around us today. At first glance the cover will draw you to at least pick this book up. The darkness of the cover with the clock gives you the feeling of time running out. Personally, I don’t think this is a book I would come across read the back cover and feel an urge to read. I have to say though it only took a few seconds of reading to actually draw me in.

I’m far from a biblical scholar, what I know of the bible is mostly what I learned has a child. I consider myself to be a Christian and have a strong desire to want to learn more. I was very impressed overall with this book. WM. Anderson Simpson did a wonderful job at explaining some key versus of the bible that I’ve never heard explained. Many pastors seem to steer clear of Revelations and when they do get into it they still seem to somehow distance their selves from what they believe it is saying or just simply give you the summarized version, skipping many verses. I call this the fear of stepping on someone’s “toes”. I was very happy to have so many versus dealing with the rapture broken down and explained. This book is a definite eye opener and makes you really stop and think. What if the rapture is upon us? Are we ready?

Now, like I said after starting the book I was completely drawn into it but I did have a problem that seemed to pull me away. Throughout the book he would point the finger at who “Evangelicals” believe to be the antichrist. He then would say he isn’t saying this is the person, but maybe and this is why. I still completely felt of course this is who he also feels it is. Every time this would come up in the book, I would feel distant from all the other information he shared. Just one of those things you hear a hundred times and it starts to annoy you, and I’m not even a fan of this person. I did see how this person could easily relate too many of the verses that were pointed out, but we all know there are many others over the years that have also easily related to those same scripture. I always think that is something to keep in one’s mind instead of calling out the “wrong” (maybe, one never knows) person.

I will have to say this book was so intriguing that it sparked a family bible study with my own family. When I had only read half way through the book, I wanted to share this information and get others opinion on it. I called up my parents and sister, that night we all met and had our very own bible study. Focusing on verses Simpson had written about in the book. Not all books make me want to do something like this, so you can imagine how drawn in I truly was. To think if I had just went off what the back cover said, I would have never read it. I really thought it was just another one of those books pointing at a person saying he is the Antichrist, but I got so much more out of this one book. So do I recommend this book to anyone? Of course, this is such a wonderful an easy to follow book. If you’re interested in reading on the rapture or having a better understanding of verses in the bible dealing with the rapture, then this book is a wonderful place to start.

Midnight Rising-Warning Signs for this Generation by Wm. Anderson Simpson takes the reader and believer to a new level. The things he wrote about the Rapture, End Times prophecy and the Scriptures he uses to back it up are actually nothing new, but his take on current news, events, and where America stands is.
There are so many “schools of thought” on where America is for the End Times prophecies. One is that America really doesn’t have a role in the Biblical sense, another says that America is the “Mystery Babylon” talked about in Revelation 17. This author takes the view that the anti-Christ will come from America, and it is the revised Roman Empire. He states,
…Those ten nations (the horns in Daniel’s vision) remain separate nations, distinct from one another, but all contribution to the transplantation of Old Rome onto the shores and soils of the New World. That the United States of America was founded by literal descendents of the Roman Empire is indisputable…
Mr. Anderson goes on to say that either our current President, or a near successor will be the anti-Christ coming from America. He does not point direct fingers to name this person of course, but shows the reasons why it COULD be. He is very careful to not name dates, or exact people, or places, but shows Biblical prophecy as it is unfolding on the evening news. His call to look for the imminent Rapture to occur leads the believer back to hope. Hope that the Lord will soon come and take His bride into Heaven.
If you truly understand the rapture is near, shouldn’t you be gleaning some understanding of the times and seasons? Shouldn’t that momentous event be at the forefront of our teaching of Christians? Shouldn’t our ministry of the word of reconciliation be focused?
This book is one I would share with others easily, as I think the message is relevant, valid, and needs to be spread. We have, as a generation, become complacent in the looking for the Lord and spreading the gospel. This could be our wakeup call to really press in and evangelize the world!
The thing I didn’t like about this book, is there are no chapters. The book is one large chapter, beginning to end. I am very OCD about chapters, I guess. It makes it easier for me to go back to find a quote, or a passage I like. It did make it harder to read, but his words are so urgent, so needed, that I was able to get beyond that.
If you have lost the blessed hope of the Rapture, or have questions about the End Times, this book is for you!
I was given a FREE copy of this book for the purpose of this review, and no other monetary compensation was received. All opinions are 100% mine. Thank you for the chance to read and review this book!

Review: Midnight Rising by Wm. Anderson Simpson

I received a copy of the book, Midnight Rising: Warning Signs of This Generation (ISBN: 193526530X), by William Anderson Simpson.  Mr. Simpson, a pastor who authored a theological journal for many years, offers his opinions on the a question that has been the center of heated debate among Evangelical Christians.  Is Armageddon near?  He chronicles prophecy throughout the Bible, particularly focusing on John and Daniel.  And, lays out why he believes that both prophets clearly point toward the anti-Christ coming from the United States.

I found the book an interesting read, as I've heard many end-of-time prophecies.  For my readers who've been in church for any length of time, I'm sure you heard the dire predictions as well - that January 1, 2000 was most certainly doomsday or other dates that have also come and gone.  As I've seen pastor after pastor erroneously foretell the end of the world, I've become even more certain of the truth in Matthew 25:13, "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of Man cometh."  I firmly believe that only the Lord knows the future - whether it be when I will die or when the world will pass away.

Mr. Simpson, while offering his own thoughts, steered away from dogmatically naming an anti-Christ or a date for Armageddon, as he too sees the wisdom in Matthew 25.  And, while I might not agree with all the conclusions he drew from Revelation, I do share his burden that preaching the Gospel is extremely important.  We will never know when the Lord will come, or when our life on earth will end - but, I do know that Jesus' salvation is the only thing that will keep me from an eternity separated from Him.  And, as Mr. Simpson pointed out, the precarious geo-political state that we live in should give us pause to evaluate what is truly important in our life.  Is it having a new car, a nice house, or even a cool blog? :)  Many times, I lose sight that my family, my character, and my relationship with the Lord are the only things that will matter in the long run.  Mr. Simpson's book reminded me to focus my attentions on what will truly matter.  And, if you're interested in reading Midnight Rising, published by Deep River Books in 2009,  you can find it on Amazon for $10.79.

From the Cover:

An American Antichrist? Judge for yourself.

During the U.S. elections of 2008, a number Evangelicals began raising the cry that the rapture is near. America is the nation that has consistently been the broker for Middle East peace. Midnight Rising make the case for an American antichrist in a scholarly and thorough way. The entire geo-political stage is aligned for the events that follow the rapture, and the push is on to resolve the one issue that holds back the dark days of the tribulation - the sigining of a Middle East peace agreement.
Simpson points out that whichever president is in power when the light of his reason proves to be darkness, he will be known for certain by the brokering of a comprehensive Middle East peasce traty between Israel and "many." It could be this presidet ... but it could just as easily be the nexxt, or one of many down the line.
In these pages you will find a biblical argument in favor of the Evangelicals' urgent call for teaching an preaching concerning the things abou tot burst forth onto the world stage.
If you truly believe the rapture is near shouldn't you be gleaning some understanding of the times and seasons? Shouldn't that momentous event be at the forefront of our teaching of Christians? Shouldn't our ministry of the word of reconciliation be focused?
What's My Opinion?

When I was asked to do a book review, I was really excited especially by a Christian author. I wasn't sure what to expect because It's not a book I've heard about. When I received it, I jumped right in without reading the back of the book. I was shocked through the first few pages. I believe very much in the tribulation and the second coming! I have never studied Revelations in-depth so to read about all the warning signs it's something I can appreciate. With the book being geared toward a younger generation, I felt like it could have been written on a younger level. It's a very direct and to the point book which as a Christian I appreciate. I love that the books purpose is to make you realize there are so many warning signs that are leading us into the end times. I enjoyed learning from Midnight Rising! This is truly a great book and I recommend it to all!
