The Real Prince Charming Review

An entire generation of young women are being consumed by today’s dating trend; immersing them in various dating relationships. Over and over again these young women struggle with purity, the lack of self confidence and security in God to stand up for their beliefs and values. They long for a fairytale ending and cling to unrealistic expectations, past hurts and guilt, turning mot toward romantic pursuits. However, the secret to finding The Real Prince Charming is becoming the woman that God has called you to be and learning that He longs to have an intimate relationship with you.

Why would you wait for less When you could have God’s best?

My Thoughts on The Real Prince Charming
By: Michelle Raftery

Every young girl dreams of being swept away in a princess romance. We have our ideals set from the first time we see a Disney Princess movie and they don’t seem to ever change. But the reality is that men are not all love songs and romantic movies. In fact they are very little of either one. I for one know how hard it can be when you are waiting for Prince Charming to ride out on a white steed and up until I met my husband I was looking for just that. In fact I was even so bold to tell a man (on our first date) that we would date for a long while but he would never be my husband. I was correct with that and we ended up dating for four years. But, the truth is that it is not just about finding Prince Charming as we will never find our ‘Perfect Man’ but we can find the man perfect for us and that is just what I have done!

The Real Prince Charming told it exactly how it is! I see so many young girls around me who push off love because it is not what they want it to be. We need to re-think our ideals and realize that our prince charming are chosen by none other than the Lord himself. If we follow the path of God then we will find our Mr. Perfect. But, even then he will still be human! I like how Michelle Raftery put it when she wrote this book. It even had me re-thinking many aspects of my Marriage! Not that my marriage is bad! I feel that it is pretty awesome and with Michelle’s tips it will be even better!

After Mommy reviewed their poems, the girls had some books to review!

Annalise read Pookster and the Unloose Tooth by Rhonda Funk.

Which was made all the more fun because this newly 6 year old has her very first 2 loose teeth this week!

Elayna read Pookster and the Practically Perfect Pickle by Rhonda Funk.

They both LOVED these books! They were easy to read and Abby loved listening to the accompaniment CDs. The colors were bright and the pictures big and fun to look at. They learned about having kind words and being someone who shares with others. Two Thumbs Up from these two girls!

Mommy also had a book to review. I have been reading The Real Prince Charming by Michelle Raftery. I enjoyed this book and as a mom to 3 girls, I know it will be a great resource over the years! The topics are perfect and each chapter is full of godly information. The back of the book says, "They (girls) long for a fairytale ending and cling to unrealistic expectations, past hurts, and guilt, turning the most toward romantic pursuits. However, the secret to finding The Real Prince Charming is becoming the woman that God has called you to be and learning that He longs to have an intimate relationship with you." I couldn't agree more! It also asks, "Why would you settle for less when you could have God's best?" What an important truth for young girls growing up in our world today!

Thanks to Arielle at Bring It On! Communications for providing these great books for our review!

Now, it is time to clean up, clean up... hopefully everyone will do their share!

Facing common dating pitfalls, author Michelle Raftery points out that when you ask the Creator Himself, you learn what a special and unique place God has for women!

My Review

Michelle Raftery did a great job writing this book. This book is geared towards young Christian women. Whether your a teenager, college student or young single women you will really enjoy this book. Dating can be so hard when your caught up in looks and emotions pushed by movies. In The Real Prince Charming, Michelle gives direction for realistic expectations in a christian relationship.

Even in a short 100 pages, she managed to communicate everything you should look for in a biblical way. She doesn't just tell you that you need to save yourself for marriage but she expands on that from a fairytale perspective using the glass slipper, white horse and happily ever after analogies. I wish that I would have had a book like this growing up. With having girls, this book will be a great help as they grow up.

BUY IT: You can purchase this book in most book stores or on Amazon for $12.99

Disclosure: I was sent a copy of The Real Prince Charming through Bring It On Communications. This is my honest opinion.
