Review of the Children's Book Temba and the Dream Giver

Recently, I was sent a wonderful Children's Book to review calledTemba and the Dream Giver by Pam van der Merwe. I am always looking for quality books to add to my kid's collection, and this is one that I am happy to place with the others.

The book is about a boy named Temba who does not live in the greatest circumstances, but through faith in the "Dream Giver" God,  he is able to rise above his situation and dream for a better life. At night he dreams of visiting the beach and being in a safe place. In the day, he day dreams of eating "magazine" food and having his own bike.

This immediately sparked a conversation with my son about how many go without the creature comforts, that my son enjoys everyday.  My son was like "We eat magazine food, and I have my own bike" and he could tell that this little boy was doing without the many of the things that are just standard in my son's life.

The illustrations in Temba and The Dream Giver created by Ria Meintjes, were descriptive and encouraged my son to ask more questions about what was happening in the book.

Ultimately this book is about having faith in God and regardless of whether or not your dreams come true, you still have your mind, and positive thinking can help uplift you out of bad situations.
